30 Jul SIGRID PREISSL AT THE SEMINAR AVIATION LAW IN VALENCIENNES

On April 4th 2019 Sigrid PREISSL participated in the scientific seminar on the subject «The EU Regulation 261/2004 establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in aviation, under the perspective of private law», co-organised by the University of Valenciennes.

The EU Parliament and Council have adopted on February 11th 2004 the EU Regulation n° 261/2004, referred to as «EU 261», in order to protect airline passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights. The practical application of this regulation, however, raises multiple and complex issues of law, on the merits and regarding procedural rules. The participants of the seminar examined these issues.
