02 May « PIP » scandal : Sigrid PREISSL in AIX EN PROVENCE
Sigrid PREISSL represents before French civil and criminal jurisdictions a collective of 70 Austrian victims of the company POLY IMPLANT PROTHESE (PIP) which manufactured and distributed defective breast implants.
In this frame, she assisted to the public proclamation of the sentence rendered by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeals of AIX EN PROVENCE on May 2nd 2016 which largely confirmed the penal sanctions pronounced in 1st instance against Jean Claude Mas, founder of PIP, and other former executives of the company.
The civil parties represented by Sigrid PREISSL obtained a total amount of damages of approximately 400.000 €. The matter was referred to the French Supreme Court by the condemned former executives.
Other civil procedures against the insurer of PIP as well as the certification body TÜV are still pending.
